  • Creating a shortcut on an Android phone that dynamically accesses a different file every day based on the file name and date, and then placing that shortcut inside a widget, requires automation. You can achieve this using Tasker (a powerful automation app) along with a widget app like KWGT or Shortcut Maker. Here’s how:

    Step 1: Install Required Apps

    1. Tasker – Automates file selection (Download on Play Store).

    2. File Manager App – Allows creating direct file shortcuts (e.g., Solid Explorer, File Manager+).

    3. Shortcut Maker – Helps create widgets for Tasker-generated shortcuts (Download on Play Store).

Step 2: Automate File Selection with Tasker

    1. Open Tasker and go to the Tasks tab.

    2. Tap + (Add Task) → Name it Daily File Shortcut.

    3. Tap + (Add Action) → Select File → List Files.

      • Choose the folder where your daily files are stored.

      • Set a file filter like file_yyyyMMdd.pdf (adjust based on your naming pattern).

    4. Extract Today’s Date:

      • Tap + (Add Action) → Select Variable → Variable Set.

      • Name it %TodayDate → Set it to "%DATE".

    5. Format the Date (If Needed):

      • Tap + (Add Action) → Select Variable → Variable Convert.

      • Format %TodayDate to match your file’s naming format (yyyyMMdd).

    6. Create a Dynamic Shortcut:

      • Tap + (Add Action) → Select App → Launch File.

      • In the File Path, set:

        swift

        CopyEdit

        /storage/emulated/0/Documents/DailyFiles/file_%TodayDate.pdf

      • Adjust the path based on your file location.

    7. Tap ✓ (Save) and test the task.

Step 3: Create a Widget for the Shortcut

    2. In KWGT, create a button that runs the Tasker task when tapped.

    3. Save the widget and place it on your home screen.

    Now, Every Day...

    • The shortcut will open a different file based on the date.

    • The widget will provide one-tap access to that day’s file.

To automatically change the Lock Screen wallpaper on an Android phone daily from a folder of 365 images (named for each day), you can use automation apps like Tasker or Wallpaper Changer. Here's how:

    3. Prepare Your Images:

      • Store all 365 images in a folder (e.g., /storage/emulated/0/Wallpapers).

      • Name them in the format: wallpaper_yyyyMMdd.jpg (e.g., wallpaper_20240331.jpg for March 31, 2024).

    Create the Tasker Profile

    7. Tap Apply to activate the daily wallpaper rotation.

    Now, Every Day...

    • The wallpaper will automatically update at midnight with the correct image.

  • Creating a shortcut on a Windows device that dynamically accesses a different file every day based on the file name and date, and then placing that shortcut inside a widget, requires some automation. Here's how you can achieve this:

Step 1: Automate the File Selection with a Script

To open a different file every day based on the date, we'll create a Batch Script (.bat) or PowerShell Script (.ps1).

Method 1: Using a Batch Script (.bat)

    1. Open Notepad and paste the following code:

      batch

      CopyEdit

      @echo off setlocal enabledelayedexpansion for /f %%A in ('powershell -Command "(Get-Date).ToString('yyyyMMdd')"') do set "date=%%A" set "filePath=C:\Path\To\Your\Files\file_%date%.pdf" if exist "%filePath%" ( start "" "%filePath%" ) else ( echo File not found: %filePath% pause )

    2. Replace C:\Path\To\Your\Files\ with the actual folder where your files are stored.

    3. Save it as OpenDailyFile.bat (choose All Files as the file type).

    4. Test it by double-clicking the .bat file.

    Method 2: Using a PowerShell Script (.ps1)

    1. Open Notepad and paste the following code:

      powershell

      CopyEdit

      $date = Get-Date -Format "yyyyMMdd" $filePath = "C:\Path\To\Your\Files\file_$date.pdf" if (Test-Path $filePath) { Start-Process $filePath } else { Write-Host "File not found: $filePath" }

    2. Save it as OpenDailyFile.ps1.

    3. To allow execution:

      • Open PowerShell as Administrator.

      • Run:

        powershell

        CopyEdit

        Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned

    4. Test it by double-clicking the .ps1 file.

Step 2: Create a Shortcut for the Script

    1. Right-click on the desktop → Select New → Shortcut.

    2. In the location field, enter:

      • For a Batch Script (.bat):

        vbnet

        CopyEdit

        C:\Path\To\Your\OpenDailyFile.bat

      • For a PowerShell Script (.ps1) (using PowerShell to open it):

        arduino

        CopyEdit

        powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File "C:\Path\To\Your\OpenDailyFile.ps1"

    3. Click Next, name it Daily File Shortcut, and click Finish.

    4. To change the icon:

      • Right-click the shortcut → Properties.

      • Click Change Icon → Choose a new icon.

Step 3: Add the Shortcut to a Widget or Taskbar

Method 1: Use a Rainmeter Widget (Best for Customization)

    1. Install Rainmeter.

    2. Download a widget skin (e.g., Launcher skins like Enigma or SimpleDock).

    3. Edit the widget’s .ini file:

      • Open Documents\Rainmeter\Skins\YourSkinFolder\YourWidget.ini.

      • Add a button:

        ini

        CopyEdit

        [MeterShortcut] Meter=Image ImageName=icon.png LeftMouseUpAction=["C:\Path\To\Your\OpenDailyFile.bat"]

    4. Refresh Rainmeter.

Method 2: Pin to Taskbar or Start Menu

    1. Right-click the shortcut → Select Pin to Taskbar or Pin to Start.

Method 3: Use Windows 11 Widgets Panel

    1. Open Power Automate Desktop (built into Windows 11).

    2. Create a New Flow to run the script.

    3. Pin it to the Widgets Panel for quick access.

    Now, Every Day...

    • Clicking the shortcut/widget will open a different file based on the date.
